Microsoft Makes Important Changes to Its Software Maintenance Policy
Beginning June 1, 2010, Microsoft will require that all customers be enrolled in a Business Ready Enhancement Plan when making additional license purchases on supported versions of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, LS Retail, and Serenic Navigator. This means that customers must be current on their maintenance plans for Microsoft to process any orders for additional users or modules. Microsoft and LS Retail Offer Maintenance Forgiveness If you are not enrolled in the Business Ready Enhancement Plan, but would like to add users or modules, please be aware that licenses must be purchased by May 31, 2010. After that date, you will no longer be able to purchase licenses of Microsoft Dynamics NAV, LS Retail, or Serenic Navigator until you re-enroll in the Business Ready Enhancement Plan. Microsoft's Business Ready Enhancement plan is a program that was created to provide customers access to innovative functionality upgrades and important updates that help ensure their solution is compliant and performing at the highest level. Re-enrolling means your organization can regain unlimited access to online training material to technical information, right at your fingertips through Microsoft's CustomerSource. This can help improve your team's performance, increasing return on your investment. It also provides you with comprehensive online support and services to mitigate potential issues. Microsoft and LS Retail recognize that this policy change may cause more of a burden for customers who have been off of maintenance for a long period of time and are offering customers the chance to re-enroll for a discounted rate. Customers who re-enroll in the Business Ready Enhancement Plan by May 31, 2010, will save 50% on their back pay. Re-enrolling by May 31 will also eliminate all late and penalty fees. Please note that Serenic customers are not eligible for this promotion. If you have any questions or would like to discuss re-enrolling in the Business Ready Enhancement plan, please contact Jeremy Fass at 410-296-5100. |
LS Retail 2009.1, the Most Feature Rich Version To Date
LS Retail recently released the latest version of their end-to-end point of sale solution, LS Retail NAV 2009.1. This version continues to build on the features and advanced technology of Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009 and is one of the most feature rich versions ever released. Special Orders, Refund and Return Management, and Item Tracking are just a few of the new features in the latest release. Perhaps the most noticeable improvements are found in the POS User Interface. The visual appearance has been dramatically improved and customizing the POS interface has never been easier. The interface has also been reorganized to make navigation more intuitive for the user. Discounts have been moved to a separate table, making them easier to update and understand. POS prepayment has been redefined, item cross-selling has been introduced and a flexible but powerful search mechanism has been added. Another exciting new feature is the Special Order module. Special Orders allow users working on the POS to create orders for specific customers. Special Orders will allow customers to order customized items based on their own preference- such as sofas with different types of upholstery. Orders can be taken at the Point of Sale or via a sales order in the central database. Items can be sources from different locations and warehouses. The Special Order module also includes a vendor item library. This means you can include your entire vendor item catalog in the library and introduce them to the lifecycle as needed. Resizing Headers in Microsoft Dynamics NAV 2009
| Field captions can be quite large in Microsoft Dynamics NAV. In the Role Tailored Client, there is a special function for increasing and reducing the height of field captions. Follow these steps to adjust the header height to meet your needs: Step 1: Right Click on the header of a list and select Choose Header Height
Step 2: Select the height. NAV 2009 provides you the option to choose heights of 1, 2, and 3 lines.
